    Marriages
The season of Shrove starts about the sixth of January. The bride’s parents provide a portion according to the value of the bridegrooms means or way of living. He must buy the ring and agree with the clergy and appoint the time of marriage. Next they invite their friends and neighbors to the wedding. Some people consider it lucky to get married on Wednesday and others on Tuesday.
