  1. There are many townlands in our district, namely Loughboro, Fox and Geese, Cloncool, Iragh, Teerovannon, Kelderra and Silvergrove. The reason why it is called Loughboro is on account of the swelling of the waters on the low lands. Teerovannon is called the land of the kids because Tír is land and mhionán is kid and besides there is a castle in it. At one time it belonged to the Irish and after some time the Danes
