  1. The people long ago had a lot of cures. Every herb that grew they got a cure out of it. They had a cure for sprains. They got bog-onion and boiled it and they rubbed the juice of it to the sprain. If a person has a toothache they would put a bit of tobacco into it. If a person got a pain in his side he would spit under a stone and the pain would be gone in a few minutes. If a cow had a sore eye they would get an ivy tree
