  1. Potatoes are grown in all parts of Ireland. Sir Walter Raleigh was the first man that brought the potatoes to Youghal, in the county Cork. From time to time they spread all over the country. There are many kinds of potatoes, namely the dates, the Kerr pinks, the Queens, the Champions, the Skerry Champions, the Leaguers, the Aran banners. The land must be ploughed and harrowed.
