  1. Most people get married during Shrove. Long ago people used not get married at any part of the year only during Shrove. They said it was not lucky to be married in May or in December. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays were supposed to be the luckiest days of the week for marriages. It was in the bride's house the wedding used to be and it usually lasted two or three days.
    Now people get married at every part of the year except Lent and Advent. They have the wedding in the house they are going to live in
