  1. In the olden times the houses the people had were made of mud. It was the women who made the first houses.
    When timber houses were made after the mud houses, they had thatched roofs on them. The thatch they had was heather. The fire was in the middle of the floor and the smoke was going out a hole in the roof.
    It was stone floors the people had then. They kept the poultry in the house
