  1. There were many trades in olden times, such as spinning wool, carding and weaving it. Also, the sowing of cotton was very common in olden times. There was a lot of work attached to it such as steeping it, scitched and hachling it, and making it fit for spinning.
    There are very few of those wheels to be seen at present, unless in an odd house and there are very few who know how to work a wheel now. There was an old factory not far from our house. It is at the end of
