    1. Long ago there was an old school in Master McLoone's yard. At that time it was called the Rectary school. In those days there was no Irish taught and it was an offence if it was spoken. There is no trace of it to be found to day. It was only for the children of the locality and on that account there were not many pupils attending it. It was on slate's that the children wrote on .
