  1. According as the Danes were gaining power in Ireland they built forts, and made strongholds as they conquered the land. In my school area there still are the ruins of some old forts. There are some ruins of forts, in Kilraine, in Stranaglough, and Letterilly. These forts are built on high places and are within sight of each other.
