  1. In the town-land of Glenties there was a school called Fisher's School. This school was occupied about twenty years ago. The teacher who was Patrick Fisher lived in an old house up the street. The subjects that were taught were, Geography and history. The scholars would write on slates and every morning when going to school they would have to take a turf or two to kindle the fire of the school. If they did not
