    A pedagogue truly was Alex-
    Wide-awake and alter in his mein,
    With a quarrelsome cink in his brainbox,
    Which results in many a scene.
    Notwithstanding his singular make-up,
    At heart he was thoughtful and kind,
    And intent on developing brain-power,
    In those who were that way inclined.
    I thank him today for his mission,
    His influence helped me along -
    And I trust his reward up in Heaven,
    Is singing the wonderful song.
    The boys whom he walloped and scolded,
    Have scattered to various parts,
    But Drutamon, Alick, and comrades,
    Find a place in their innermost hearts.
    Ted and Will when grown up took a notion,
    That better their fortunes might prove,
    If they sailed o'er the turbulent ocean,
    Away from the land of their love.
    The antipodes called and they answered,
    To the land of the Abo' and 'roo,
