  1. Ballad.
    My friends have you not heard the news,
    How Regan did a tramp abuse,
    At a place they call Druminick.
    This tramp as everybody knows,
    From Maggie Gamble took some clothes,
    But he had no harm in it.
    Maggie to the barrack ran.
    There wasn't their a single man,
    But the sergeant and his wife.
    The sergeant locked the door and ran
    In pursuit of this unlucky man,
    And almost took his life.
    The sergeant did this tramp dertake,
    bonuenient to Druminick Lake,
    Where he sat down to rest.
    But when the sergeant did appear,
    He started like a frightened deer,
    The sergeant ran his best.
    Great credit is to Harpins due,
    For when called on he quickly flew,
    and rendued my assistance
