  1. With your whins now in blossom,
    And you lowly thatched cottage
    Where oft I did stray;
    To spend a night cheery
    With yon lassie near me:
But now I must leave her
    And cross o'er the sea.
    While looking around
On this dear spot of ground
    Through the morning's grey mist,
I now take a last view
    Of yon sunny plain
Where I first met my Jane
    Among the green bushes
    Of old Kilnacrew.
Now my friends and old neighbours
    All come to convey me
    Away from the spot
    I now call my home.
There's a tear in each eye
    As they whisper "Goodbye",
    And my blessing attend you
    Where 'er you roam".
