- When a boy eats a small fish whole, in one gulp, and then does not speak from the time he eats it until he goes it bed, it is said that that night he will see his future wife in his dreams. If as person looks in the mirror at midnight on Hallowe'en, eating an apple the while, his future wife is supposed to appear and look over his left shoulder. If a person goes out and sweeps the street or yard at midnight it is said that a witch will appear who, if asked, will do anything you like on your enemies, if you have any.

A Colly-Féasóg:-This is a small fish like a perch about 5 or 6 inches long, and having something like a beard about its mouth.
