  1. There are many stories told in the district. There was once a giant who lived in Whiterock. It was said that he lifted a rock there and trew it to Carrickfin. The rock fell there and killed all the people it fell on. After this, the giant was surrounded and killed. It is said that where he was buried there is a big hill.
