    The men that were out long ago were far stronger than the men of nowdays. It is said that there was one man who in lived Brittas his name was James Glennan and it is said he could wheel thirty six stone of oats on a barrow to Ballykeeran mill. The story is told that once there was a stray ass on the road. One morning this man caught the ass eating the oats and he got into a temper and took the ass by the tail and flung him out on the road.
    A giant flying from Connaught formed the two Waterstown lakes. Where he stepped and the mud fell off his feet and formed Ballyheeran hill.
    A small haggard beside John Conlons house Lissahillon Glasson, Athlone, the Barony of Kilhenntied in his great grandfathers time. The haggard was sown with barley. The old man was looking at it on Sunday and said ti was fit to eat. The next morning the people got up early to cut it. But it had disappeared. Roots and stems, and it was
