The Landlord 6th-4-1938 Long ago the local Landlord was Mr. James McDermott. He and his tenants agreed fairly well together and so long as they agreed he was not so hard on them. He held an office and all his tenants had to come to that office and pay their rent to him. McDermott was a Catholic which very few landlords were. Mr McDermott never evicted anyone around this district. Most landlords put big rents on their tenants and if they were not able to pay them they were put out of their houses and could go where they liked. Some might get work with other tenants and others emigrated to America and other countries. Mr. McDermott was
