  1. Altar Linen 31st-3-1938
    Altar Cloths
There must be three cloths on the altar for Holy Mass. The Altar linen represents the linen in which our Lord's Body was wrapped for burial.
    Corporal
A piece of linen, about twelve inches square, which the Priest places on the Altar, and upon which the Sacred Vessels rest.
    Purificator
A square piece of linen with which the Priest purifies the Chalice and Paten.
    Pall
A small square linen envelope, stiffened with cardboard, with which the priest covers the Chalice during Mass.
    Communion Cloth
A linen cloth laid on the Altar rails out of respect, and for fear of an accident to the Blessed Sacrament. Communicants hold it in their hands and spread it out when receiving Holy Communion.
