  1. A letter 17.1.1938
    My dear Mother
I am writing you a letter from the school, but you will never get this letter because I do not intend to post it. I am only learning how to write a letter
    It is two o'clock now.
I will be able to write one when I get big.
And when I go away to a job I will be able to write home to you.
All the children are learning how to write a letter.
To day is fairly warm day,
but it was raining when I was coming to school.
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
