- Potato Crop 23 Jan 1938There are potatoes grown at home on my farm every year. There is an English acre sown under potatoes nearly always, and the same amount is sown each year. The ground is not manured before being turned up, but when the drills are opened there is manure spread in them.The potatoes are sown in drills in the field but when the potatoes are sown in the garden they are sown in ridges.
