- There was a corn-mill in Cashelbeg. It was situated on the side of a flowing stream called the Millrace. It was not as up to date as the mills of the present days. It belonged to a man named Hanson. The ruins of it are there still. He was a Protestant who owned it. It is a hundred years ago. He planted daffodils beside the mill and they are growing there still. He called them the orange lilies.
There was a lime kiln in Cashelbeg. It was situated in James Farrell's land. It belonged to the land lord. It was the same lime kiln as are the present day.
There was a weaver in Torthwillam. He was Connaughton. He wove clothes from flax and wool. He had a hand loom for weaving. The ruins of his house are to be seen yet. Bernard Dowd lives in that place now.
