    you were going to tan. Those holes were filled with soap and water and the leather was put into the holes. After some time the hair falls off the skin. It was then put out to dry. It took two years to give the leather a complete finish. The leather long ago was made of oakbark, but nowadays the leather is made by machinery which only takes twenty four hours.

  2. Marriages were very different long ago than they are now. Long ago in this parish the Marriages were held at night but now they are held in the morning. There was a old costom for ban beggars and straw boys to go [from going] round the night of the marriages.
