    Caterpults.
    Caterpults were made by getting a stick the shape of a fork. This was called a geallóg. Then a piece of rubber was affixed to each end of the fork the pieces were held together by a piece of lather in which the stone was held.

  2. Many people in this district look upon some days as lucky and upon others as being unlucky. In summer when people change from heavy clothes into lighter ones many people make this change on Friday or Sunday to ensure that they contract no colds. Many also take this precaution when washing their hair in winter. There is a woman in Askeaton who would not wear any garment which was out on Thursday and a man who never came to begin any work
