- The name of the Saint that is connected with this district is St. Laurence. There is a church dedicated to him in Clonmult. A place by the name of Garrylaurence is called after him. In Mr Dinneen's field Garrylaurence, Clonmult there is a Holy Well dedicated to him.
- Fairs were held in this parish about one hundred years ago. The field is still known as Páirc an Aonaig and belongs to Mr Colbert. These fairs are discontinued. The nearest fairs to Castlemartyr are Killeagh & Midleton. They are held monthly.
Special horse fairs are held twice a year and buyers come from all parts of Ireland to these fairs.
