Ar an leathanach seo
- There are not many roads in the district which I live in, owing to the high glens which are lead to by passages. The Inchemay road which leads from the bog to Nadd, where it forms a cross there, with the Boghera, Lyre, and Leuca, roads.
This road was made during the famine period and it gave relief to a great number of the unemployed.
It is still used, especially in the Summer time when the people are drawing home the turf.
Although it is old it is always kept in good repair.
There is a new road connected with this which was begun about two years ago and is not finished yet and this is the Nead-beag road.
There is a river between these two roads and long ago it was crossed by a ford.
Before this ford was made, it is said that some girl was bringing home a load of turf which she had bought.
When she came to the river it was flooded, so she drove forth into the river sitting on the load.
The water was too strong and the horse failed to cross it as he fell under the load.
The girl who was on the load began to scream and the neighbours who lived near the river heard her and it was with a reins they saved her life.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
