- Hidden Treasure
In a carrick of Frank Caulfied's, Drumshevera, Scotstown, Co Monaghan, there is supposed to be a crock of gold. People herding cattle on a summer morning often found silver near the place. Johnny MacGonnell a neighbour of Caulfields's said he often heard fairies laughing.
One night he heard fairies "heeling" emptying stones. Next morning Johnny got money near the place. The fairies names were written on the coins. He got much money and soon was very rich. He used to watch the fairies at night and go to look for money in the morning. Bridget Sherlock
