- Weather LoreEight years ago there was a terrible flood. It arose in the mountains of Eshnaglough and came in the front of Carnaquill and swept all the ditches and pathways along with it. This flood happened on Saturday night. When the people got up in the morning they could see nothing only water all around them everyone seemed to be very much frightened. Scarcely anybody got to Mass as most of the bridges down.
