    "these will keep company with my father." In olden times a murder was more common than at present.
    The only good fortune at that time was the good religious men in monasteries and abbeys offending no one. The time came when enemies entered those monasteries and beheaded or banished the priests and monks.
    An old abbey stands at present at Bullindoon. There was until very lately the ruins of an old abbey or church at Temple More. Also at Tawnagh and Kimorgan there are remains of old churches. The churchyards in those cases are utilised as burial grounds.
    In the year 1908 a young servant boy named John Stenson, who was employed by John Mellican of Rusheen was shot during an encounter with the R. I. C. while driving cattle off Ardcumber farm. The people of the neighbourhood at that time were wanting the farm to be given back to them. it was on the 28th of October that John Stenson was shot. That night as the story relates John Stenson was coming out of the Ardcumber farm, and the police
