   There was a man named Colreavy living in an earlier townland in the Parish of Cloone a long time ago and none of the neighbours around could get any butter, and Colreavy was selling several tubs of butter, so they had him accused of taking the butter. This day Colreavy had a man thatching and the straw was in the barn, and the man went into the barn to pull a nice sheaf of straw to make "bobbins" fir the rigging of the house. He put in his hand into the straw and caught this thing and pulled it out and what was it but a "dead hand" for taking butter off a churn. The thatcher put it back but that night when he was going home he took the dead hand with him. There was a man in the neighbourhood that could cure for the dead hand, so the thatcher went to him. He told the thatcher that the
