    people. It got its name from the fact that the land in the vicinity is very bare and barren.
    There is another hill called "The Mile - bush hill," situated near Drumcrave School, about one and a half miles from Cavan town. There is a bush on its summit, and from it to the town is about a mile, and it was from this fact that it derived its name.

  2. There are certain days for curing diseases, for instance, the sprain is cured on Mondays and Thursdays.
    Saturday is an unlucky day to start work on, or to change from one house to another. It is said, that if one sets potatoes after the fourteenth of May, it will be a bad crop.
