occasion a man named Michael Gannon had a hare in his field and he wanted to catch her. One day when he got his father gone to Moate, he made a hay rope and put it around his waist for a belt. Then he went out into the field where the hare was. He took off his braces and made a snare out of them. Then he tied them with a tea twine to a little bush. Then he went and beat the field for the hare and hunted her to where he had the braces set. The hare got caught in the snare. But before Michael was up to her she had the cord broke. She brought the braces away and that was the last of Michael Gannon's braces.
