  1. Long ago there was a lot of fairies in Ireland. On one occasion there was a lady who had a race horse. Every night she used to go out to feed the horse before she went to bed. A couple of nights before the races she went out to feed the horse, and while the horse was eating his feed a small man dressed in red came into the stable where the horse was, and he told the lady to put all the money she had on the horse because he was going to win. A week before the races she employed a Jockey to ride her horse. The day before the races the Jockey fell sick and he was not able to ride her horse which was supposed to win the race.
    On that account she was very much annoyed because she thought she would loose all her money. The day of the races the lady had no Jockey to ride her horse. As she was entering into the races she met the small man who appeared to her in the stable. He asked her had she any one
