  1. Old schools
    In the days gone by the schools were not held in the same manner as they are at the present time.
    There is a hedge in "Páirc mín" and there are three big flag stones behind the hedge and it is said there used to be school held there long ago.
    The teachers who were teaching in these schools did not receive (as) very much pay. There were no books as there are now but the pupils were taught by instruction.
    Schools were held at back of hedge because they were afraid the enemy would come and find
    In the penal times that these schools were held.
