  1. Local cures
    If any person suffering from chilblains should wash their feet in warm water in which potatoes have been boiled in they will be cured.
    A cure for a cold is hot buttermilk and sugar or a few teaspoonfuls of black-currant jam stirred well in hot water. Here is another cure which is for a headache. Let the person rest in a darkened room and be given a small dose of aspirin. About half a tablet.
    Plenty of fresh air and wholesome and nourishing food are supposed to be good for consumption. A cure for rheumatism is to eat plenty of onions and to lie between blankets.
    A certain plant bearing a little pink flower will heal any cut or sore if it touches any part of the body.
