- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Most of the women wore a brown flannel skirt on Sundays. This colour of material was know as ''Queens Brown''
Linen was made in the ordinary way. It was bleached with sheep manure. It was dried in a temporary shed erected close to the dwelling house. This shed was called a ''puirin''
Both the Weaver and the Hackler were ''tradesmen''
For generations the Jordons were the weavers in the Carniska district. A man named Burke was the last Hackler known.
Special fine linen was made for the breast collar & cuffs of shirts. One man had about ten linen shirts. Heavy sheets were made from linen with a ''twill'' on it.- Faisnéiseoir
