    covered a distance of ten miles in one hour. A man named John Keogh, Monavea, Crettyard, Leix, was thought to be a great mower. He once mowed a field which contained about two acres in one day. He was then said to be a very good man at mowing.
    There were a great many good dancers who lived in this district in olden times.
