  1. There is a fairy fort in Turra. It is round in shape. It is said that sometimes fairies are heard singing and dancing in it. Some people call it a rath. One night a man went down to see what was going on. When he got down he went into a room where there was a light he went in and saw fairies dancing in it. He said to himself that he would stay there for a few minutes but when he came out he found that he was a withered old man. He had been there over fifty years. It is said that there is a fairy fort situated in the townsland of Woodlands. In day - time churning is heard and in the night dancing and singing is heard.
