Long ago a ghost was seen a few miles to the West of Knockmagree. The ghosts took the form of a woman and she was always seen near a bridge.
The people of the district were terrified and no one would venture to pass after night-fall where the ghost was seen. After some time a very brave priest set out alone on horse back and he met the ghost and she attacked him and they fought for hours.
The ghost killed the horse belonging to the priest and he banished her from the district. The priest said after the combat "I must carry my saddle myself but I put her far from the
