  1. About two years ago some men were employed in a marble quarry near Lisheen Bawn, Castleisland. They had gone down some feet when they came to a slab of stone. They lifted it up, under which they found a coat of mail and several bones of human beings. It is said that in the olden times when people were arrested they were thrown into this big pit to die.
