  1. In the rocks in Ballyheigue, is a hole in the shape of a coffin. Long ago a certain family used to bury their dead there. They put the dead person in a coffin and placed the coffin in the hole and it is was gone in the morning. One time a boy died and his mother placed his coffin in the hole where she watched all night to see who would take it. Nobody came, however, and the coffin was left in the hole so that they had to bury it in the Church yard.
