  1. A Story of Ballybeggan
    The following event took place in "Kenny's Fort", a short distance from where I live. It happened during the "Tan Troubles", and can be vouched for, by many men.
    Four men of "Oakpark Company" of the I.R.A. were sent with guns and ammunition to wait at the fort for other members of the I.R.A. All of a sudden while they were watching a crowd of men appeared a little distance away from them and walked along by the ditch in the field. The four men thought they were also of the I.R.A. and began to whistle. The crowd took no notice but kept walking till they reached the fort. Then immediately they disappeared.
