On Christmas Eve my father and I were going to my grandmother's and when we reached the top of the Curlews the car suddenly stopped. The rain was pelting in on the engine and when my father got out of the car he was nearly blown into a bog hole.
We had to sit in the car for two hours and in the morning a man and a woman were found dead on the road side. They had perished. Many sheep and cattle were found dead and many roofs were blown off the houses.
- About twenty or thirty years ago there was a great snow-storm which lasted for six days. In parts it was so deep that it reached the roofs of one story houses(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
