“There is a hill called "Cnocán Árd Dearg.”
There is a hill called "Cnocán Árd Dearg. This hill is supposed to be brought from a place near Milltown. An Irish and Scottish giant challenged one another as to which of them could jump from Glencar across to Caragh river. The giant's sister heard of this, and she brought her apron full of sand to put under her brother's feet so that he would not get hurt, But when she was after crossing the Laune she heard the news that her brother was after jumping, and with the fright she left the sand fall. That heap of sand is called "Cnochán Árd Dearg". There is a hole near Milltown where she took sand out of. And near Rossbeigh there is the print of giant's foot where he jumped.
