  1. There are a great many cures about this district. St Patricks well cures toothache. You say a lot of prayers and drink some of the water. St Marcels well cures cattle. You go to the well and throw away something and say prayers and bring home some of the water and give it to the cattle and it cures them. Jimmey Connolly has the cure of the mote in the eye. He gets water on a plate and gives you some of it and says prayers and the mote comes out in the water out of your mouth. My father has the cure of the mumps he puts a halter on them and brings them to a stream and gives them three mouthfuls of water.
