    pimples. Unsalted butter, and butter-milk boiled together were supposed to be a good cure for a cold. If a person happened to poison by mistake long ago, they used to eat as much as they could of unsalted butter, as it was a great emetic. Unsalted butter is also used by sick people. The people now-a-days make ointment with unsalted butter mixed with sulphur, and it is a cure for every kind of skin-disease.
    Goose-grease is very good for rheumatism. Goose-grease is also very good to rub on sprained joints. Long ago the people used to rub goose-grease on their shoes, as it was considered very good for leather. They also used it for greasing axles of carts, who no cart grease was to be got.

  2. Long ago when the people had no polish, they used to rub goose grease on their shoes. It is very good for strong boots, and it is also very good for burns. Goose grease is very good for chapped faces, and also for chapped hands. It is also very good to rub it on the roughened skin at night. It is also very good to rub it on a cow's udder when it is sore. Every woman always has a bit of goose-grease in the house.
