It is not lucky to throw out the ashes on New Year's Day because you throw out the luck. It is a bad thing to pay out money on that day because you will be paying it out for the year. the people leave the doors open on New Years Night to let the New Year in and to let the old Year out. It is not right to go to the well on New Year's Day
