  1. Once upon a time Patsy Gaven was a great flute player, he lived near Donamona, and used play at weddings and dances for a little payment. This night he played at a Wavers wedding in the village of Ballinafad. This wedding continued until about three o'clock in the morning of a fine bright moon light morning. On his way home, some where between Ballinafad and Donamona he came to a large party of boys and girls on the road. One of the party stood out before him and asked him would he play a reel for them. He said he would by all means, and began to prepare the flute. While he was doing so, they money around him.
Then he began to play the reel most gracefully. When they had it danced, they gathered up on the road, and rose into the air, and left his sight. These were the leprohauns.
This was told to me by my father.
