  1. Many years ago two men from bonanmore [?] set out for England to get work at the harvesting. It was their first time away from home and they were amazed at the strange things to be seen on their journey. They had to walk to Dublin where a ship would take them to England. When near Dublin they saw their first windmill. They never heard of one before and after much arguing they agreed that nothing else but God Himself could come round in the air without anything holding it up. One of the men was called Padeen and the other Micín. When they had been a while praying Padeen got up and went over to kiss the windmill. The blade of the mill cut the nose and mouth off him. "Get up Micín" he shouted. This is not God at all but Judas who betrayed Christ - for he swept the nose and mouth off me with
