  1. Hidden Treasure
    It was supposed that gold was hidden under a rock, in the town-land of Townatruffain, Dromore West, Co. Sligo. Nine men tried to unearth it but when they had the rock half turned over it started to rain so heavily that they had to leave it and they never returned again to find it. They had heard that a cat was guarding the rock and would appear if it were touched. Some say they saw the cat and got frightened and others say the downpour of rain coming down so suddenly and so heavily frightened them. There is only one of the men who tried to find the gold alive now and he says they saw a cat as soon
