  1. One evening, a woman from Cross, was coming from milking cows in a field near her house and when she was coming out on a gap she heard a noise behind her and on looking behind her she saw a very rich old man who lived near her house and who told her he was very much annoyed by a crowd of little men who kept throwing in a ball to the door he was sleeping in, the whole night, and shouting at him in a language he could not understand.
The man asked the woman would she tell her brother when she went home to come and stay in the room with him to see what would happen. When the woman went home, she told her brother and he went to stay the night in the other man's house All was quiet till about twelve o clock when all at once the men heard a loud noise outside and after a while they heard shouting outside and one of the men went out but could see nothing but the voices kept on outside and after a while a lovely ball was thrown in to the room
